Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The physical office location of Suffolk Literacy Council has been closed to the staff and the public since March 16, 2020 and will remain closed to staff and the public until further notice. Student Highlight- Emma Jean is Published

Emma Jean Claud's tale of growing up a sharecropper's daughter was published in the Sunday Break section of the Virginian-Pilot. Her tale along with many others show us the costs of our history and the joy of family.

The Suffolk Literacy Council was founded in 1987 by a task force of concerned citizens to address the problem of illiteracy in Suffolk.
