The Suffolk Literacy Council was founded in 1987 by a task force of concerned citizens to address the problem of illiteracy in Suffolk.
Our Mission
To increase adult literacy within the Suffolk community by connecting individuals to resources that will promote lifelong learning.
Our Vision
A Suffolk community where all adults are literate and perform at their highest potential.
Major Goals
- Increase literacy and math learning for adults 18+
- Enhance English language learning opportunities
- Improve employment seeking skills and opportunities
- Increase digital literacy skills
- Promote the value and importance of adult education opportunities in Suffolk
