We recognize and value working in partnership with local city and community agencies involved in literacy. The following is part of Article V of our By-Laws:
Core agencies with literacy as a priority shall be entitled to a representative to the Board on a continual basis. These members will be known as Core Representatives. Each representative may appoint an alternate to attend board meetings in the representative’s stead. The alternate will have a voice but no vote. The following agencies are considered Core: Suffolk City Schools, Suffolk Social Services, Camp Community College, Western Tidewater Regional Jail, Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk Public Library, The Children’s Center, and College and Career Academy at Pruden.
